Alternative mode of assessment

Students with disabilities have the right to alternative modes of assessment. The aim is to compensate for disadvantages caused by disabilities in examinations and courses that include examinations. General information can be found on the Team Barrierefrei website:

Deadlines

The following deadlines apply to the fields of study offered by the Faculty of History and Cultural Studies (SPL 6, 7, 8, 9, 41):

 
Application (determination of SPL in accordance with §11 (1) of the Study Regulations):

For courses with continuous assessment, applications must be submitted no later than two months before the start of the semester. For lectures and module examinations, applications must be submitted no later than two months before the first examination date.

 
Use (determination of the SPL in accordance with § 11 (4) of the study regulations):

The use of approved alternative examination methods must be announced in good time (students' obligation to cooperate). For courses with continuous assessment, this must be done when allocated by the registration system, at the latest in the first course unit. For excursions, this is no later than when registering for the course, earlier if possible. For lectures and module examinations, this is 4 weeks before the intended date of participation.

Please note: Different deadlines may apply for courses/examinations offered by other directorates of studies (additional degree programme, extension curriculum, teacher education subjects, etc.). Please check the respective website for more information.
